This month Best of the Bugs features a fly that is a great attractor. It can simulate an emerging caddis or what ever you want it to be. For most purposes, I like to tie this fly in white and purple. I have tied it in green orange and yellow. White has been most successful for Brown trout and the purple great for Rainbows. $19.95 per Dozen plus GST.

My Big Ugly Nymph is one of those flies that evolved from two or three different flies. It is a combination of a Dragonfly Nymph, a Sparkle Nymph, and a March Brown Nymph. I found that in the spring, when the big rainbows are cruising the shoreline, this is an excellent pattern to attract their attention.
